Laura Caslin {love!}

omg, I super enjoyed the etsy craft fair earlier today!! It went much quicker than I had expected, though I'd never been to a craft fair before, so I wasn't sure what to expect.  Full review will be later -- tomorrow, each day this week, I have no idea, but I had to squeeze in this post before I jet to a couple parties this afternoon & evening!

So.  I fell. in.love. with Laura Caslin's gorgeously delicate necklaces.  The daintiness is just *so* exquisite, I can't truly describe it.  I had *promised* the hubs I wouldn't purchase anything for myself -- which, okay, I teensy broke a little, but if I had caved and bought a Laura Caslin piece, that would have been uber-obvious.  But seriously -- beautiful work, very reasonable pricing!  le sigh (le sigh le sigh, seriously).

I stopped by Laura's etsy shop + didn't see the pieces displayed at the fair (understandably!), but here's a couple delights, just to give you a taste.

The middle, for instance, uses vintage watch parts, if I'm not mistaken.  But imagine an entire chain like the top earring! Plus, say, a horizontal row of teeny pearls!  Or a cluster of delicate stone briolettes!  sigh. [**update! found a photo of one of these necklaces :)!!**]

Okay, back to getting ready for the shindigs tonight, hopefully y'all have a delightful rest of the weekend!

Oh. My. Word.

So, for my hubby's 30th bday, I wanted to send cards/an email to be printed on a card to his friends + family, asking them to write in their fave M joke/story -- especially b/c I just heard this totally new story from a co-worker of his, from when he was 6 years old. Something to do with visiting Kit of Nightrider (Knightrider?) at Disney World.

Anyway, I was kinda worried about how to illustrate his favorite joke (he loves telling jokes, and his humor is probably The thing that got me). And one of my friends shared with me the contact info of the artist who drew her un-bridesmaids notecards. These notecards were AWESOME -- mine was an adorable bunny holding a muffin tin. PERFECT. And each set was specialized for every girl! Freakin awesome. But I didn't know (or remember, I guess) that she had someone do all of these for us.

Enter Frippy. I was a shade worried b/c all of her etsy items are bunnies -- and my joke did not involve bunnies.

But she just sent me the artwork she drew up, per the uber-rambly description I sent her -- AND IT IS PERFECT! AND ADORABLE! AND AWESOME! I would share, but sorry, I know there's crafty ways around mages that are protected from being downloaded, and it's too fabulous for anyone to use without J being compensated (other than my already-permitted use). But if this changes, I'll let you know. eeeeee, so excited!!!

So, the Sprinkle got shot down. I'm okay with that. But Bee, if you come back to Texas and there's a way I can swing it, this is so going to happen. Minus this preface: "After all, aren't first children always the apple of their parents' eyes..."

But I'll admit, in a way, that makes the theme all the more perfect! And, in full disclosure, it does end with "(at least until baby #2 arrives)!" Or, in Y's case, until baby #3!
